Lithuanian foreign minister visiting Ireland

The meetings will address bilateral relations between Lithuania and Ireland, cooperation within the European Union, the Eastern Neighbourhood program, energy security and diaspora matters, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said.

The Lithuanian diplomacy chief and his Irish colleague will attend a public discussion at the Cork University, titled Forging Partnerships: Ireland and Lithuania in the EU27.

Linkevičius will also see members of the Cork administration and the Cork University academic community, visit the Irish National Archives and meet with the local Lithuanian community, as well as take part in the events in Dublin to celebrate Lithuania’s 100-year anniversary of restored independence.

According to official statistics, around 40,000 Lithuanians reside in Ireland.
