At a meeting of the parliamentary group of the Social Democratic Party, Linkevičius received critical remarks from the chairman of parliamentary Budget and Finance Committee Bronius Bradauskas, Environment Committee Chairman Algimantas Salamakinas, Rural Affairs Committee Chairman Bronius Pauza and a member of the Economic Committee, Arvydas Mockus.
“The noise came from the same individuals who always make noise,” said Parliamentary Vice-Speaker Gediminas Kirkilas who backed the foreign minister.
The four Social Democrats feared that the reckless criticism of Moscow would have negative effects on Lithuania’s economy and lead to stronger steps on the part of the Russian administration, according to the daily.
