“We expect to accomplish this objective by 2020 so that 40 percent of the country’s exports would come from the regions. Since a larger share of Lithuania’s production is already located in the regions, I believe that this goal is achievable,” said Mantas Nocius, head of the business promotion agency Enterprise Lithuania.
Currently, Lithuania’s diplomats, businesses, and organizations eye 27 priority markets, most notably in Southeast Asia, the Persian Gulf countries, and the USA.
Dairy products remain Lithuania’s priority export commodities as their sales slumped after Russia’s food embargo.
