A response to a public consultation launched by the European Commission will be drafted during a Cabinet meeting, and the Lithuanian government plans to propose to permanently stay on summer time.
“The European Commission launched a public consultation and is waiting for the public and government opinions. We will formulate the government’s stance and will give our response,” the government’s vice chancellor Deividas Matulionis told BNS Lithuania.
The European Commission launched consultations in response to a call by the governments of Lithuania, Finland and members of the European Parliament to stop shifting time.
Summer time is introduced annually in the majority of European and North American countries.
