Lithuanian Labour Party picks deputy minister of foreign affairs

DELFI / Šarūnas Mažeika

The party was supposed to fill in two more posts, those of deputy minister of agriculture and deputy minister of energy, but failed to reach an agreement and returned this issue to party committees for reconsideration.

“After a lengthy meeting, the presidium of the Labour Party has approved Mantvydas Bekešius as deputy minister of foreign affairs. Many nominations were put forward regarding deputy ministers of energy and agriculture; it [the presidium] was asked to refer the issue to party committees on economics and rural affairs. They will reconsider and submit their opinion to the presidium,” said chair of the party Loreta Graužinienė after the meeting.

According to her, the commitees have to convene within a week, analyse nominations and submit their conclusions.
