Lithuanian MP steps down from parliamentary Budget Committee

Bronius Bradauskas
DELFI / Valdas Kopūstas

The party’s group has approved the move and will delegate Bradauskas to the Parliamentary Committee on Economics.

The issue whether Bradauskas should continue chairing the Budget Committee was raised after his son won the competition to head the State Tax Inspectorate (VMI).

“The political group made a decision that committees should be swapped and I agreed,” Bradauskas told journalists.

The MP said he regretted to leave his work that he was leaving unfinished at the Committee on Budget and Finance, but added he was pleased with the opportunity to chair the Committee on Economics.

Currently the Committee on Economics is chaired by Remigijus Žemaitaitis of the party Order and Justice. He will swap positions with Bradauskas.
