Let me give you another example – if there is a car crash caused by police officers, commissioners general Vytautas Grigaravičius and Vizgirdas Telyčėnas stepped down, they were such truly honorable persons with immense experience and huge merits for Lithuania, however, left after the problems. I believe this is an example for politicians,” Graužinienė told the Žinių Radijas news radio on Wednesday morning.
The Special Investigation Service (SIS) and the Prosecutor General’s Office is conducting an investigation into suspected corruption in public procurement deals at the Interior Ministry. A dozen of searches were carried out on Tuesday and five persons were detained, including Barakauskas’ former adviser Ervinas Raistenskis and former interior vice-minister Algimantas Juocevičius.
