The ceremony should be attended by representatives of 50 countries, including French President François Hollande, German President Joachim Gauck, Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and other European leaders.
Other participants will include US and Canadian officials, Auschwitz survivors, staff of the Auschwitz Memorial Museum and representatives of international organizations who will pay tribute to Holocaust victims and light candles at the memorial.
