The commemoration will take place at the location of the Auschwitz death camp. The liberation of the death camp will be commemorated at the local museum on 27 January, the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
The main ceremony near the camp gate will be led by Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski.
Russia said on Tuesday that President Vladimir Putin would not attend the commemoration.
