No Lithuanians have worked in EIOPA groups so far, it said.

Tomas Kybartas, a LVOA lawyer, has been appointed to the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group, and Kęstutis Kupšys, a member of the LVOA Council, to the Occupational Pensions Stakeholder Group. There are no other members from the Baltic countries.

The Frankfurt-based EIOPA is an independent advisory body to the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.

EIOPA says on its website that its “core responsibilities are to support the stability of the financial system, transparency of markets and financial products, as well as the protection of policyholders, pension scheme members and beneficiaries”.
