A recent study has shown that nearly 40% of Lithuanians do not know how much they are charged for banking services.
Experts think this might come from many customers’ belief that monetary transactions entail no cost.
Most Lithuanians use credit cards for payments of other banking operations at least once a month, but some of them do not know how much they are charged and for which services.
In the survey, 60% of respondents said they thought that banking services cost them between €1 and €8 a month.
The study has been commissioned by the Bank of Lithuania which is planning to introduce a fixed-price basic banking services plan from February next year.
