According to the poll, LFGU would be backed by 21.9 percent of those polled in elections next weekend (26.5 pct in January), indicating a sharp decline from their best result of 30.7 percent in December.
The popularity list is continued by the opposition Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (conservatives) with 12.9 percent (down from 13.4 pct in January), the ruling Social Democrats with 7.7 percent (down from 10.2 pct in January), the Liberal Movement 6.4 percent (down from 6.1 pct in January), the Order and Justice party with 3.1 percent (3 pct in January) and the Labour Party with 1.8 percent (up from 2 pct in January).
According to the survey by Spinter Tyrimai (Spinter Surveys), the popularity of LFGU Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis saw a slight decline, with 36.8 percent of respondents viewing him as the best person for the job (down form 39.9 pct in January).
Amid the declining ratings of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union, the public opinion about the government also dropped by 7.2 percentage points – 38.6 percent of those polled in February applauded the government’s operations, as compared with 45.8 percent in January. The nation’s opinion was collected before the Cabinet submitted its plan for implementation of the governmental program.
The survey of 1,011 residents was conducted on February 17-24.
