Minister of the Interior Saulius Skvernelis at the Government’s sitting will present the optimisation of institutions overseeing the migration processes. The minister has previously mentioned about radical changes in the migration system and the Migration Department.
As reported, the Migration Department was recently rocked by a scandal after the revelation that it issued residence permits to foreign criminals. The Migration Department was also criticised by President Dalia Grybauskaitė.
