Lithuania’s R&D spending grows 5 percent in 2014

Based on a preliminary GDP estimate, R&D spending in those sectors climbed to 0.72 percent of GDP last year, from 0.71 percent in 2013.

Higher education sector accounted for 75.4 percent (EUR 196.4m) of the total spending.

Biomedical sciences accounted for 26.4 percent of the total (EUR 68.7m), followed by physical sciences with 21 percent (EUR 54.7m) and technology sciences with 19.4 percent (EUR 50.4m).
