Two flights from Vilnius were been cancelled on Friday, Indrė Baltrušaitienė, spokeswoman for Lietuvos Oro Uostai (Lithuanian Airports), the operator of the country’s three biggest airports, told BNS.
Thursday flights took off as scheduled since the action targeted long-haul flights, leaving the short and medium-haul flights unaffected.
Lufthansa has been forced to cancel about half of its scheduled flights on Friday. As estimated, strikes reduced the company’s net profit by approximately 160 million euros last year.
It is the 12th walkout of Lufthansa’s pilots since last April.
