Membership in international organizations costs Lithuania EUR 17 mln yearly

The highest fees are for its membership of the United Nations and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The country contributed 3.9 million euros to each of the two organizations last year.

It paid 1.3 million euros for membership in the European Space Agency.

Lithuania currently pays contributions to 130 intergovernmental organizations and other international cooperation mechanisms. The government assesses the usefulness of the country’s membership of international organizations on an annual basis.
