In 2014, 22,908 marriages were registered in Lithuania, as compared with 21,349 in 2013. The bulk of the marriages (nearly 14,000) were concluded in civil registry offices, presentable locations or places of the newlyweds’ choice. The remaining marriages took place in churches (over 6,300) or abroad (over 2,700) and later included into the books.
