The sum is higher than the 500,000 euros granted last year.

Every year, the state allocates financial support to restoration of places or worship and other needs of Lithuania’s traditional religious communities, groups and centres.

Under the draft approved by the government on Friday, the largest sum of 571,000 euros will this year go to the Lithuanian Conference of Bishops.

The Orthodox community will receive about 33,000 euros, the Church of Old Believers of Lithuania will get nearly 7,800 and the Lithuanian Evangelical Lutheran Church will be granted 7,300 euros.
