Not a single child killed on Lithuania’s roads last year

Not a single child has been killed on the roads due to their own negligence last year, said Lithuanian police spokeswoman Marija Kazanovič on the LRT show Labas Rytas Lietuva.

This is the first time since the post-war period that Lithuania has had a year without such a fatality. The Lithuanian police had promised to pay more attention to children’s education on traffic safety.

Kazanovič also reminded drivers that since April 10, drivers are forbidden to use studded tires. Drivers who ignore these rules may have their car‘s roadworthiness validity certificate cancelled.
