The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BNS Lithuania negotiations on the OECD budget for 2019-2020 are not finished yet, therefore, there’s no agreement on the distribution of member countries’ contributions,

“A member state’s contribution is calculated based on its percentage share. The latter is calculated based on a formula which is in fact based on the country’s GDP. Budget negotiations are very difficult, therefore, we can estimate that Lithuania’s contribution will stand at 2.5-3.5 million euros a year,” the ministry told BNS Lithuania.

The OECD on Thursday officially invited Lithuania to become its 36th member.
