Parliament speaker criticises president’s proposal for new care agency

Loreta Graužinienė said the response must come from the inter-ministerial commission set up by the government.

“There are enough authorities, there is no need to create a new one, because it would be yet another bureaucratic institution that would not really solve those systemic problems that are arising now. In my opinion, it is necessary to give more powers to the existing authorities, to provide adequate funding, to clearly define their responsibilities and to require officials to hold those responsibilities,” the parliament speaker told Žinių Radijas.
