The committee has advised to additionally allocate LTL 1.7 million (EUR 0.5 million) for the purpose in the 2015 national budget.
In addition, in view of the growing significance of representing Lithuania’s economic interests abroad, the committee proposed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to additionally allocate LTL 2.4 million (EUR 0.7 million) for the establishment of four positions of diplomatic economists. Currently, only four diplomatic economists are employed at Lithuanian diplomatic representations.
Furthermore, the Committee on Foreign Affairs confirmed the law on the approval of financial indicators of 2015 state and municipal budgets, which was amended with proposals of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defence.
