PM Skvernelis congratulates new French counterpart

He said Lithuania valued the French contribution to the international peace and security efforts.

“We maintain active and mutually-beneficial economic relations, solve common European challenges in the spirit of solidarity and responsibility. I am convinced that the partnership, which has stood the test of time, shared values and positive attitudes of the society will help us further consolidate our bilateral ties, providing residents of our countries with peaceful, safe and reliable future in the European Union,” Skvernelis said in a congratulatory message circulated by the government.

The Lithuanian prime minister wished the French PM-designate success in the implementation of his goals and strength in the position.

Philippe, a conservative, was on Monday appointed by French President Emmanuel Macron elected a week and a half ago.
