The course of Brexit negotiation between the EU and the United Kingdom topped the agenda, the Lithuanian President’s Office said in a press release.
The president underscored that, in the negotiations, the main priority for Lithuania was to preserve the rights of the Lithuanian citizens residing in the UK. When the United Kingdom leaves the EU, Lithuanians must enjoy the same rights as they are enjoying now, said Grybauskaitė.
According to the press release, the meeting was held on the British prime minister’s initiative.
Great Britain should leave the EU in spring of 2019.
