President appoints new ambassador to Greece

Kačinskas, the ministry’s political director, will take the office on January 23, replacing Alfonsas Eidintas who started his term in Athens in 2014 and will end the tenure on January 4.

Kačinskas, 45, has held various positions at Lithuania’s embassies to the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as posts at the Foreign Ministry’s departments and divisions.

The diplomat served as plenipotentiary minister at the Lithuanian embassy to the US between 2010 and 2014 and took up his current position as political director at the Foreign Ministry two years ago.
