The head of the state noted that the public and young people had to be civic, be able to resist disinformation and attempts to discredit the state, and not to give in to manipulations with information.

The president said that using the advantages of the internet and social networks, active and conscientious young people not only had to discern lies and libel in the public sphere but must also help their friends, colleagues and relatives do so.

Representatives of forty Lithuanian youth organisations and experts on security attended the meeting with the president.
