The amendments clarify regulations on referendum organisation procedures, campaigning and vote counting. They also lengthen the duration of voting and specify wage payment procedures for voting commission members, a press release from the Presidential Palace states.

The amendments expand the number of voting locations abroad, making opportunities to vote in further foreign locations through Lithuanian diplomatic representations and consular institutions.

The law now also has stricter reputation requirements on referendum commission members, only allowing flawless reputation citizens entry.
