Rafael Chwoles’ portraits exhibition to open in Vilnius museum

The painter’s son is expected to donate a part of the paintings to the museum.

The exhibition entitled “Their Eyes Are On Us, We Too Are Looking At Them. Rafael Chwoles: Portraits of Vilnius Residents Between 1945-1959” features the painter’s works of the 1940s and 1950s.

Rafael Chwoles was born in Vilnius in 1913 and moved to Warsaw in 1959. The painter in 1969 emigrated to Paris, where he died in 2002.
