The price of electricity in Lithuania and Latvia last week fell 16% to €31.59 per MWh after the NordBalt maintenance works have been finished.
Increased electricity imports from Estonia and Belarus also gave a positive push for electricity prices.
Electricity price declines in Lithuania and Latvia have been recorded for a second week in a row.
Last week, power stations in the Baltic countries produced 76% of all electricity. Lithuania, as always, has imported most – 80% of its total electricity use. Latvian electricity imports accounted for 38% of consumed electricity, while Estonia produced 67% more electricity than it consumed.
