All Alliance countries agreed at the NATO summit in Munich that they must be ready to counter potential threats, especially from Russia, according to Olekas.
“Most of the speakers, including our President, evaluated those statements as an attempt to spread a smokescreen – to hide what Russia does in Ukraine, Syria. Many were in favour of those decisions which have already been or will be taken at the Warsaw Summit – NATO countries must be ready and have all the possibilities to counter all potential challenges and thereby counter Russia’s actions,” he said.
In response to the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s statement that the world is already living in a second Cold War, President Dalia Grybauskaitė stressed that Russia is provoking conflicts in Ukraine and Syria.
