In a resolution marking the three-year anniversary of Moscow’s annexation of the peninsula, the Seimas stated its “strong support for Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders”.
The lawmakers denounced “the ongoing occupation and annexation by the Russian Federation of a part of sovereign Ukraine’s territory — the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol” and called on Moscow to withdraw its troops from Ukraine’s territory.
Ninety-one members of the Seimas voted in favor of the resolution and one lawmaker — Irina Rozova of the political group of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania–Christian Families Alliance (EAPL-CFA) — abstained.
