The meeting will take place on Saturday after secretaries of the national delegations meet on Friday, the parliament’s Public Relations Division said.
The event will involve NATO Parliamentary Assembly president Paolo Alli, while Lithuania’s Defense Minister Raimundas Karoblis will make a speech at the meeting.
At the meeting of the Standing Committee, Lithuania will be represented by Rasa Juknevičienė, the head of the Lithuanian parliament’s delegation at the assembly and the assembly’s vice-president, and MP Juozas Olekas.
The committee in Lithuania will discuss a draft declaration of the Parliamentary Assembly, which should be adopted in May ahead of the NATO summit scheduled to take place in Brussels in July.
The Standing Committee holds three annual meetings, including one at some NATO country in spring and the remaining two during the assembly’s spring and fall session.
In spring, the Standing Committee discusses priorities of operations, candidates for positions in the assembly and other issues in connection to the organization’s activities.
