“Six ships are waiting. They will be allowed to enter the port only after the wind has subsided,” it said in a press release.
Tugboats will be brought in to help ensure the safety of the Independence, the Klaipėda liquefied natural gas terminal‘s floating gas storage and regasification unit, it said.
The speed of winds was 18 meters per second at the port at 11 AM and is expected to increase to 26-27 meters per second later in the day.
