“Three ships, including the Arctic Princess LNG carrier, are awaiting entry into the port of Klaipėda. The LNG carrier could not enter the port on Tuesday as certain restrictions apply to vessels of this type as they need good weather conditions and daylight to enter ports,” Dovilė Ringis, spokeswoman for the port of Klaipėda, told BNS Lithuania.

The gas tanker will enter the port of Klaipėda later after winds and waves die down.

Winds of around 18 m/s were recorded in Klaipėda at 11 a.m., with gusts up to 23 m/s.

“Waves in the sea reach 3-4 meters. Winds are forecast to peak at 4-6 p.m. and their gusts might reach 28 m/s. We hope winds will die down in the early hours of Thursday,” Ringis said.
