The Special Investigation Service has refused to comment on the report.
“We cannot provide any additional information as we are carrying out initial investigative actions,” STT spokesman Ruslanas Golubovas told BNS on Wednesday.
Milaknis could not be reached for comment. The STT said on Wednesday that searches had been carried out at the offices of SODRA staff and also at the office of the head of a private company.
STT investigators suspect that SODRA awarded a contract to a company which was not the lowest bidder and therefore paid a higher price for goods that were offered by another company for a lower price.
The investigation is controlled by prosecutors from Vilnius Regional Prosecutor’s Office’s Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Division.
