Stable prices in Lithuanian electricity market

Last week, the average price of electricity in Nord Pool Exchange Lithuanian trade zone remained almost unchanged compared to the previous week and was €32.3 per megawatt-hour. The price has fallen by a quarter if compared to the same period in 2015.

Lithuania imported 87% of consumed electricity. Half of the electricity has been imported from Sweden, 17% from Latvia, Estonia and Finland. Last week, Lithuania’s own power production decreased by 29%.

On July 18-24, imports to Lithuania through the Latvian-Lithuanian interconnection worked at 26% of the total capacity, on average, while the Swedish-Lithuanian interconnection was used at 79%, and Belarusian-Lithuanian at 13% of total capacity.

Electricity flow through LitPol Link to Poland averaged 35% of the total capacity, while to Lithuania 20%.
