Tech enthusiasts want to take Lithuania’s flag into “space”

Under the project, called “The Tricolor in the Space”, a weather balloon filled with hydrogen gas would take the flag up some 30 kilometers on Sep. 1 and the balloon will later collapse and safely land with the help of a parachute.

The organizers plan to put photo and video cameras on the balloon for the flag to be recorded.

“I have always had the idea of taking pictures from as close as possible,” programmer Raimondas Žvirblis, one of the people behind the idea, told BNS Lithuania.
