According to the press release, 22 persons died of flu this year while there were no deaths during the previous season.
The number of hospitalized patients has also increased in the 2015-2016 season – a total of 1,843 people were taken to hospitals compared to 903 in the 2014-2015 season.
Some 95,000 persons were vaccinated for free this past season, which covers 99.8% of those in the highest risk group for the flu.
