Flying the Panamanian flag, the 250-metre long 13-deck cruise ship MSC Opera was welcomed with traditional Lithuanian folk music at Lithuania’s Baltic sea port.

“This year we will have two ships less than last year, but we hope that there will be more passengers: last year we had 25 vessels with a length of over 200 metres, this year there will be 29. We expect about 64,000 passengers,” said the Klaipėda State Seaport Authority Director Arvydas Vaitkus.

Around fifty cruise ships will visit Klaipėda this season. The cruise ship season will end on October 5.
