The online platform includes the US State Department’s written communication with US missions abroad in connection to various 1920-1941 events on the international arena.
Vytautas Žalys, ambassador at large at the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, said the digitalized US foreign policy documents would facilitate the work of researchers worldwide and give remote access to archival data.
“It is a big gift to Lithuania’s academic community, a treasure for all who are interested in international relations,” he said.
According to the ministry, the documents were first published in a 1935-1943 multi-volume publication, which has become extremely rare.
