Anonymous testimonies by several former VDA students emerged on an blog earlier this week, claiming that they had intimate relations with Jonas Gasiūnas, a prominent painter and Lithuanian National Culture and Arts Prize winner, during their studies and felt pressure and were humiliated by him.

Following these testimonies, several young women told the Info TV station that that had been sexually harassed by another National Culture and Arts Prize winner, photographer Gintautas Trimakas while students at VDA.

A current student has told the Delfi.lt news website about alleged disrespectful conduct by an unnamed lawyer who taught at the academy.

Both Gasiūnas and Trimakas have denied the allegations. The former has said that he is leaving the academy and is considering filing a libel action in court.

The Ethics Committee will submit its findings to the Senate, whose next meeting is scheduled in two weeks.
