On 15 August, outgoing Czech Ambassador Radek Pech will be replaced in Vilnius by Bohumil Mazanek, while Spain’s Ambassador Miguel Arias Estevez will be replaced by Emilio Fernandezas-Castano y Diaz-Caneja on 22 July.
In a farewell meeting with the outgoing ambassadors on Thursday, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius discussed bilateral relations and thanked them for their active contribution to the efforts to strengthen ties with Lithuania.
He thanked Pech for his work to reinforce the political, economic and cultural relations between Lithuania and the Czech Republic, as well as for his country’s support to Lithuania’s membership in the United Nations (UN) Security Council. The meeting also addressed the bilateral meeting of Lithuanian and Czech foreign ministers scheduled to take place in Prague in November.
Linkevičius expressed gratitude to the Spanish diplomat for the support to the Lithuanian presidency of the EU Council and the country’s aspiration to join the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
