Rimašauskas was detained in mid-March and the US request for the man’s extradition reached Lithuania around a month later.
Based on the international extradition treaty with the US, the Lithuanian Prosecutor General’s Office has asked the court to extradite the 48-year-old suspect, who is currently under arrest.
US law-enforcement officials have brought fraud, money laundering and identity theft charges against the Lithuanian citizen.
