Vilnius takes third place at FDI European Cities of Future Awards

Zurich and Edinburgh topped the rankings which were were based on five factors: economic potential, business environment, human capital and quality of life, cost efficiency and communication.

“Vilnius is currently the fastest growing millennial generation city. Hard-working, talented technology people are living here, most can speak in at least two foreign languages,” said Mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius who was in Cannes, France to visit the annual real estate exhibition MIPIM and to promote Vilnius as an investment location, meet with representatives of investment funds and to present Vilnius as the most growing, attractive city for investment in Northern Europe.

“Many sectors show impressive growth in Vilnius – just in the last two years, the IT sector has grown by 30% and increased the number of employees in the sector by quarter. Service centres in Vilnius are expanding impressively and are looking for hundreds of new employees. All this allows me to present Vilnius to foreign investors as a city of fantastic growth,” the mayor said.
