Vilnius Tech Park to establish smart garden laboratory

“We will have more opportunities to interact with companies that will work here, to become an experimental platform. We believe that it will become an inspiring space,” said Renata Domeikaitė, the initiator of the project to develop the lab.

The technology park will open in Summer and will establish a multi-educational center Miesto laboratorija.

Domeikaitė got the idea for the lab when she was living in Amsterdam and saw how green technology and smart solutions could contribute to sustainable community development in the city. She wanted to bring that approach to Lithuania.

“Miesto laboratorija is a great evidence of how Vilnius residents with different interests can achieve results when organized into a community. I am glad that Sapiegų park and the Vilnius Tech Park that will be established there is becoming one of the most democratic spaces in Vilnius. Vilnius has always been and will be open to innovations,” said Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Šimašius said.
