Vilnius to join forces with Latvia, Estonian cities in tackling alcohol use

According to the municipality’s draft resolution, Riga and Tallinn, as well as Kaunas, Klaipėda and Parnu, are also expected to sign the memorandum.

The cities would agree to carry out joint addiction prevention and other long-term projects involving healthcare and educational institutions and law and order bodies and to support non-governmental organizations working in the field of children and youth addiction prevention.

The cities would also commit to imposing special restrictions on the purchase of alcohol at retail locations.
