In 2015, 3.271 TWh of electricity was produced in Lithuania which was 34.2% of total energy consumption in the country. Wind power plants generated a quarter or 24.6% of the total amount of electricity produced in Lithuania.
Last year Lithuanian wind power plants produced 806.3 GWh of electricity which represented an increase of 26.7% on 2014. In 2014 wind energy’s share of total domestic production was 21.4%.
In 2015 the total consumption of electricity in Lithuania was 9.559 TWh. Wind power plants supplied 8.4% of total demand in the country.
Lithuania now operates 21 wind farms and 125 individual wind turbines. The total installed wind power capacity is 432 MW.
