33 people arrested in Lithuania as part of international crackdown on organized crime

The European-wide operation on 15-23 September was directed against synthetic drugs trade, human trafficking, sexual exploitation of children and pornography.

In all, over 1,000 people have been detained during the operation.

“The operation was aimed at testing and implementing capabilities of all EU member states to coordinate actions against criminal groups at the same time,” Edvardas Šileris, deputy chief of the Lithuanian Criminal Police Bureau, said.

800 officers worked on the operation in Lithuania.
