Alternative fuel cars sold in Lithuania one of lowest in EU

In 2015 there were 326 new electric, hybrid or natural gas powered vehicles registered in Lithuania which is 97.6% more than the year before. However, the only EU country with a lower number of alternative fuelled cars registered was in Bulgaria at 21.

Lithuania was also behind its Baltic neighbours whose number of registrations were decreasing. In Latvia numbers decreased by 39.3% to 382 and in Estonia they fell by 29.7% to 429.

Across the EU, the total number of cars running on alternative fuels registered increased by 20% to 582,100.
