Ambassador to Russia pays tribute to Lithuanian ministers shot 75 yrs ago

A number of outstanding politicians of the Lithuanian state of the interwar period, including Prime Minister Pranas Dovidaitis, Foreign Minister Voldemaras Carneckis, Interior Ministers Petras Aravius, Antanas Andziulaitis and Zigmas Starkus, were buried in a mass grave near the so-called “12th kilometer” memorial Yekaterinburg.

As part of his visit to the city on July 9 to 12, the ambassador also visited the “Yeltsin Center” to see an exposition related to Lithuania and to meet with the heads of the center to discuss possibilities for organizing in 2018 a series of events to mark the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the statehood of Lithuania.
